Adamthwaites in Other Records
This section contains an ever-growing collection of records relating to our Adamthwaite ancestors - they cover an extensive period from the 16th to the 21st centuries and the details within them add greatly to our understanding of WHO the Adamthwaites were, WHAT they did for a living and HOW they may have lived their lives.
The colour coding system is used on many of these spreadsheets, and eventually, I plan to add tags to the Birth spreadsheets to indicate when an individual is mentioned in one of the records in this section - please be patient, this is a very fiddly task!

Adamthwaite Documents: this small collection includes transcriptions or summaries of documents which relate to individual Adamthwaites - several Chancery documents which I have photographed at the National Archives are still awaiting transcription!

Manorial Documents: these are mainly rental documents (the originals of which are held at the Cumbria Archives) which provide information about Adamthwaite tenants in the various properties in Ravenstonedale during the 16th-18th centuries

This document is the indenture of Edmond Adamthwait, son of Thomas Adamthwait,husbandman of Ravenstonedale (deceased) to be apprenticed to William Pallady, citizen and joiner of London for seven years. The document was signed by Edmond in 1675.
Edmond, whom we know was christened in Ravenstonedale in 1654 and was the son of Thomas Adamthwaite and Elizabeth Fothergill, remained in London after completion of his apprenticeship, and married twice, before dying in London in 1695 - you can find his baptism, marriage and death records amongst our BMD data resources.
Edmund's older brother William was apprenticed to John Fothergill of Webb St, London, as a carpenter.
Before discovering this Indenture, we had no way of knowing who the Edmond Adamthwaite was who suddently appeared in London parish registers.
